Real local time
The experience responds to location and changing day/night length instead of assuming every day is geometrically identical.
An Arabic platform for understanding time
Al-Zaman brings civil time, Arabic temporal hours, prayer times, night thirds and the moving Moon into one instrument shaped by place, sunlight and the real rhythm of the day.
Clock
Dawn and sunset depend on where you are, so nothing is calculated until you say. Nothing is stored on the site — your choice stays in this browser.
Why Al-Zaman?
Every layer has a purpose: the Arabic ring follows temporal periods, prayer times define meaningful anchors, night thirds show where you are within the night, and the Moon adds the astronomical context of the same moment.
The experience responds to location and changing day/night length instead of assuming every day is geometrically identical.
Civil time stays at the centre while Arabic temporal hours surround it, so both systems can be read at once.
Each material now has its own outer Arabic geometry and raised central relief instead of sharing one pattern in different colours.
Theme, division system, location and Moon visibility can change without disturbing the core time model.
Material collection
The collection is rebuilt so every theme has its own material, Arabic outer geometry, central construction and depth. Silver keeps its approved identity while gold, wood, stone, black, turquoise and glass no longer share one bezel pattern.
Champagne gold with broad girih strapwork and raised eightfold knots.
Cool steel and platinum with precise khatim geometry and no grey lateral bezel wash.
Warm walnut with stepped geometric Kufic carving and raised central work.
Dark basalt with architectural muqarnas-inspired geometry and restrained aged brass.
Near-black silk with a fine mashrabiya lattice and elevated gold detailing.
Lustrous turquoise enamel with khatim stars and zellij lozenges, with no plus/cross filler.
Clear glass with white refraction edges, subtle cool highlights and faceted octagonal crystal geometry.
How it works
Instead of presenting every feature as a separate utility, Al-Zaman uses one model that begins with place and ends with a clear reading of the present moment.
Coordinates and timezone establish the local solar context.
Prayer and solar events provide the boundaries used by the available day-division systems.
The twenty-four named hours are distributed across those real periods according to the selected system.
Clock, Moon, prayer, night thirds and material theme meet in one synchronized instrument.
Apps
The website is the front door to Al-Zaman, with desktop, mobile and wearable apps extending the same idea.
Use the clock directly in your browser.
A native app built on the same calculations and identity.
A desktop app with native system widgets.
A dedicated Windows desktop release.
Watch faces derived from the same theme family.
Privacy is part of the design.
Core interface choices, selected place and clock preferences stay local to your browser wherever possible. The platform works without an account and exposes no commercial layer to the user today.
